Our 4th Annual Fundraiser in March 2023 was a great success and we owe many thanks to our donors. Your support to our fundraiser was greatly appreciated and allowed us to raise $39,000! Your generosity helped us to fund 25% of our annual outreach. Your generosity will continue to allow us to provide fresh produce to families and children in need. GSM provides close to 4,000 adults and children fresh produce every month. 100% of the donations we receive help the needy.
On April 8, 2023, we are adding a 3rd Food Pantry, Holy Name of Jesus in Bellefontaine Neighbors. This pantry operates once a month and serves 70 families. We are so excited to serve 3 pantries, one school and some homeless camps fresh produce.
Our Big Raffle begins on May 1st and ends May 31st. We have 4 prizes.

In 2022, we held our Virtual Silent Auction with a big raffle and donor campaign. The event was a great success and we owe many thanks to our donors and participants. This fundraiser ensures that we are able to continue our programs for the year in light of the rising food costs. Our Trivia Night and Silent Auction next spring will be Saturday, March 4th. More info to follow.
We were able to add an additional food pantry to receive our fresh produce. In May 2022, we added St. Anthony of Padua Food Pantry and Outreach Center. We currently provide fresh produce weekly to 2300 clients. St. Anthony of Padua is extremely grateful for our donations since their other food sources have drastically been reduced. Our goal is to increase our donations to help St. Anthony meet 100% of their client needs. We are currently only meeting 50% of their needs.
In total each month, GSM donates over 700 boxes of fresh produce which feed/serve approximately 3500 clients. Families are able to come weekly to the food pantry to select fresh fruit and vegetables for their families. Fresh produce is delivered to the food pantry every week, and we work with the coordinators of the pantry to figure out just what families need.
We are continuing to provide a donation to St. Frances Cabrini so the school is able to have fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the day. Besides a healthy morning snack, and fresh fruit and vegetables at lunch, GSM also sends fresh food home with the children to their families.
We want to thank the Charless Foundation and the E. Walter Hausette Charitable Foundation for each giving us a grant for $5000.
On November 16th, 2022, “Show Me St. Louis” will feature Giddo Simon Ministries as one of their nonprofits for giving week.
On November 29th, GSM will participate in “Giving Tuesday” on social media.
On December 3rd, we will deliver Christmas to St. Frances Cabrini families. Each family will receive a box of fresh produce, a grocery gift certificate for a holiday meal and a gift and craft for each child.
Look for our special event in early December where we will join Sedara Bakery for a Charity Day. Sedara will donate a percent of their sales to GSM.

Big things have been happening at Giddo Simon Ministries!
In the spring of 2021, we held our second annual fundraiser, a Virtual Silent Auction, peloton raffle and donor campaign. The event was a great success and we owe many thanks to our donors and participants. This fundraiser ensures that we are able to continue our programs for the year in light of the rising food costs.
St. Stephen/St Trinity-CCBF Food Pantry is thankful for our fresh produce donations especially with more families needing food due to the increase in cost. The pantry feeds up to 1000 people monthly and GSM is able to donate 180 boxes of produce a month to serve those families in need. GSM is so thankful to be able to provide healthy fruit and vegetables to this food panty. During October 2021, we just completed an application for a grant to supplement our donations to this food pantry.
At the end of 2020, GSM implemented an exciting new program! We are now providing help to 100 families at Cabrini Academy with a food pantry located at the school. This food pantry provides, food, toiletries, cleaning products and household goods to families in need.
This fall, we continue our support for the Nutrition Program at Cabrini Academy to feed children fresh produce at lunch and breakfast. GSM was so excited to see a new salad bar in the cafeteria and children having the opportunity to make healthy choices at lunch.

GSM volunteers are behind the scenes shopping for Christmas Gifts, Goodie Bags, Crafts, produce and grocery store gift certificates for a holiday meal. All of our Christmas goodies will be delivered to the school by our volunteers by the first weekend in December for the faculty to distribute to each family.

What a year! Thanks to 400+ donors and attendees we started the year with a VERY successful fundraiser. Our Trivia Night and Silent Auction in February was a blast.
In March, all were affected by COVID-19, which significantly increased the need to feed the hungry and serve those in need in our community. Produce costs also increased during 2020. Thanks to all of our donors and fundraising, we are continuing our donations to the St. Stephens/St. Trinity/CCBF Food Pantry. The pantry runs things a little differently these days but they are still able to distribute our fresh produce to those in need.
Throughout the summer and starting with a virtual school year, St. Frances Cabrini provided drive up breakfast and lunch to their student’s families. They reported that their need for food was greater than ever due to job loss. 85% of their families qualify for aid for food. GSM was able to donate $9000 again in 2020 to help support their effort.
Christmas at Cabrini is going to look a little different this year! GSM volunteers are still shopping for Christmas Gifts, Goodie Bags, Crafts and Produce.
We received a list of all families in the school with ages and gender of their children. We have 129 families totaling 512 children and adults. All of our Christmas goodies will be delivered to the school by our volunteers by the first weekend in December. The faculty will distribute to each family. This year, however, since the need for food is so great, we have increased the grocery gift certificate to $50 per family.

In December 2019, GSM increased our fresh produce donations to the St. Trinity/St. Stephen/CCBF Food Pantry to fifty cases per week due to the increase of people visiting the pantry. The pantry now serves an average of 1,000 people monthly in the St. Louis area.

On December 7th, GSM hosted the 5th annual Christmas Party for St. Frances Cabrini Academy. We would like to thank all of the 70+ volunteers who helped make the event a success! This year we had 425 attendees and 255 children.
MARCH 2019
In March, we started providing fresh produce donations to St. Trinity/St. Stephen/CCBF Food Pantry every week. The pantry serves 800 to 900 people per month. In January, we were able to contact Kenny, a friend of Giddo's from United Produce, who is working with us to provide produce to the pantry. Kenny is giving us pricing so we are able to provide a wider variety of fruits and vegetables every week. We received a needs list from the director and are able to accommodate. We provide approximately 25 to 30 cases every week.

Christmas at Cabrini was a huge success. We had 385 attendees and 60 volunteers. Thanks to all who helped and donated to the event. Remaining presents were donated to the Join Hands East St. Louis Christmas event. The extra produce was donated to a local food pantry.
